The elements of the National Communication (NC) and Biennial Update Report (BUR) reporting were also explained in context of annex and non-annex countries. The enhanced transparency framework modalities, procedures and guidelines have been set under the Paris agreement in order to achieve the long term goals.
The difference between Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) and BUR was clearly and sufficiently discussed by him. BTR requirements are required to be more detailed and specific in comparison to the BUR. Several queries were solved to comprehend clearly about the BTF, BUR and NCs and process of every of Nationally Determined Contributions cycle.  Comprehensive de ions were explained in GHG inventory requirements under Paris Agreement.
In order to have BTF to be comparable, transparent, accurate, consistent, complete and well documented, important points were discussed both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Several exercises were given and discussed especially looking the items related to GHG inventory and check the compliance the BUR and BTR reporting requirements.

cpresentation

Post lunch scheduled presentations were given by all the country specific trainers in AFOLU sector. The feedback and discussions were done at the end of each presentation by Ms. Kim Moon-Jung, Environmental Researcher, UNFCCC- Technical Expert reviewer.
Each trainee has given country presentations focusing on the guidelines provided beforehand. The sharing of knowledge was great and within short span we learnt about the sector wise GHG emissions and removal of each country.
The two way interactive discussion after each presentation was helpful to learn more about each country and refined our working knowledge too. The good finding was that most of the countries use Tier II approach along with Tier I approach.
Further, LULUCF has shown by different countries in emission category and many were able to sequester carbon from atmosphere.
The limitations and improvements were also diverse to know about it and consistent working is being performed to maintain the reporting as per guidelines and follow the completeness, accuracy, consistency and transparent and comparable.

Coordinator's comments:
I hope Mr. Takeshi's lecture on NIR helped you better understand various reports submitted to UNFCCC e.g. NIR, NC and BUR which would definitely contribute to preparation of such national reports. By the way, I conveyed your get-well message to Mr. Takeshi (you were worried that he had a very bad cough during the lecture) and he appreciated your warm remarks.
It's good to hear that country presentations on AFOLU by fellow trainees were helpful to you. Ms. Kim Moon-Jung who facilitated the presentation session is our proud colleague of GIR and she was very impressed by passionate trainees including yourself.
