Ⅰ. GIR GHG Training Program (UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT Programme)
The trainees from 65 countries have become experts on GHG inventories in their countries
Since 2011, this 4-week intensive training program has been operated to train government officials and researchers from developing countries on GHG inventory compilation with various lectures and hands-on exercises.
So far, 286 trainees from 65 countries have successfully completed the program and have been contributing to their own countries' climate change response efforts with their expertise. GIR tries to improve the quality of the program in order to meet the growing capacity building needs of developing countries for the transparency framework in the Paris Agreement.
