Journal of a Third day in Korea

Time run, we are now in the third day of studies in Korea, but as expected, very rich and fun.

The lesson started at 9:00 am by Ms. K.Ahn who explained and presented in detail the Korean experience in terms of greenhouse gas inventory and all the details about legal and institutional arrangement.

 In the second part of the lesson, Ms. K. Ahn  explained the MRV procedure from the phase of measurements until the operationalization of the national GHG inventory.

In the last lesson, she gave us many analysis and key challenges to establish our GHG inventory.



After Ms. K. Ahn, Mr Gil lee take the speech and he explained the chapter "Facility level GHG system in Korea".

Mr Gil had mentioned the Korean reduction target until 2030 (37%) then he explained the two major mitigation policies: TMS & ETS and he detailed the facility-level GHG MRV system.



The rest of the morning lesson was very fun, Mr. Jae Jung joined the team, and he explained the Korean National mitigation roadmap & its MRV. After that, he made 4 groups of discussion to imagine and create the best MRV system.




The afternoon was very rich in information, Mr. Dominique revet explained to us in detail the UNFCCC and its parties and its reporting requirements and recommendation, the financial resources for NCs and BURs. After that he gave us the definition of the national GHG inventory and he explained all about the IPCC Guidelines/ Guidance for the GHG inventories (For all the sectors linked to The GHG inventories).

Mr. Dominique gave us after that a wonderful lesson about how we can establish institutional arrangement, identify the key category analysis and all methods and data documentation.

It was a great lesson that ended with a little exercise to capitalize on all the information we received.





To end this beautiful day, there is no better than an Asian dinner in the city of Seoul, wawww its wonderful feeling.
