LAPTOP PURCHASE SEARCH/TOUR

The search for an IT equipment shop for the purchase of a laptop started at 9:00am since the one I brought from my country had developed a hard disk problem.
I and Sybastine Manners left the residence through the subway station to Techno Mart on 85, Gwangnaru-ro 56-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.



Inside the Subway


Techno Mart is a sprawling electronics shopping center with each floor offering a different theme for shoppers to enjoy. Shoppers can browse and enjoy from a wide range of lifestyle and leisure items as well as home appliances and high IT equipment.
Techno Mart has two branches (Sindorim & Gangbyeon) which is easily accessible by public transportation, connected by subway station via underground passages. The Gangbyeon branch is known to be the largest electronics deport in Korea.

We got to the shopping center at 10am which is the opening time on Saturdays.
We finally got a USED SAMSUNG NT110S1J-K14SW for 180,000won after a very long search because of the language barrier.
After purchase, some installations and changing of language from Korea to English took over 3hours to finish.

During the installations, we took a tour round the shopping center which was very graceful.
Went back to pick the laptop and left the mall for dinner at 4:20pm.
We had dinner at an Indian restaurant (Pooja), where we had a delicious chicken fried rice and Garlic Naan.

It was an eventful tour and I’m glad to visit the largest electronic deport in Korea, thanks to Sybastine Manners who was with me after having the knowledge of my bad laptop and the secretariat (Travis park) who lent me a laptop to use before getting mine.

I was told that you were looking for a second-hand laptop due to some issues with the one you brought, and after you came back to the lecture with a laptop you bought here in Korea, I was very curious about your journey on the day. So this was the day to the Techno Mart!
After seeing photos of you and Sybastian in the subway in this journal, I am 100% sure that every time I see any foreigner travelling by subway, they will bring me back memories and stories of you having a subway trip.
I cannot imagine how challenging it would be to purchase anything in a country whose language is totally different to the one I use, particularly if it is an electronic equipment.
Yet, I can see you were very successful in getting youself the laptop you needed which I find it unbelievable. 
You truly are one talented person who deserve to be shortlisted and invited to the programme, Juliet. You once again made me feel very proud of you.
