UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT DAILY JOURNAL ENTRY FOR 1st AUGUST, 2022

Trainees were notified on Monday morning that the lecturer for the morning session, Sekai Ngarize, would not be able to facilitate the session as a result of COVID-19 restriction upon entry at the airport. 
Trainees arrived at the Euljiro Co-op Residence Lobby for registration and further information was given as it related to the way forward. 
Inadvertently, the afternoon session was also cancelled due to the inability of the Secretariat to secure alternative plans. 
Country presentations replaced the next day’s afternoon session. As such, I used the time to work on presentations for the following day.
Some trainees took the opportunity to do some site seeing and explore Seoul a little more.
Trainees visited the University of Korea, Ewha Women’s University and the Dongdaeum History and Culture Park.

I assume you were one of trainees who had a quiet day. COVID-19 brought us unforeseen events such as issues of lecture cancellation of international experts which made us to inevitably change our plans quite a number of times.
I hope there will be no pandemic ever in the future so that trainees as well as lecturers do not have to experience challenging situation.
