   Coordinator’s comments: Every sector other than the one we normally work on is always challenging and I suppose the waste sector was no different. We had Professor Kim luckily who did not hesitate and took enough time to help trainees understand everything including how greenhouse gases are generated, calculated as well as how waste shall be treated and managed to produce less or no emission. I see that GHG emissions from the waste sector in Bangladesh in 2019 accounted for 1/10 of the total emissions. Though this particular sector might be of less significance in Bangladesh compared to energy and AFOLU, you never know when you will need the basic knowledge of the waste sector as a GHG expert, and when the time comes, I hope what you learned from Prof. Kim’s lectures would help you through whatever you are encountered with. |
