Gyeongbokgung Palace is located at 161 Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu Seoul and built in 1395. It is arguably the most beautiful Historical site and remain the largest of Seoul’s five main palaces. It is also known as the Northern Palace because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (Western palace).

The Northern Palace

The premises were once destroyed by fire during Imjin War (1592-1598). However, all of the palace buildings were later restored under the leadership of Heungseondaewongun during the reign of King Gojong (1852- 1919).
The palace is one of the South Korea’s must-visit attractions. Built in the 14th century, it is the oldest Joseon Dynasty palace in the nation, and it’s right in the heart of Jongno-Gu, the most culturally happening part of Seoul and has got a brilliant ceremony of guard’s. Admission fee ranges and varies for different groups of people (Adults & Children).

Some trainees visited the Gyeongbokgung palace today as it was the “old soldiers’ performance day”. The ladies rented and wore the traditional costume (hanbok), also got their hairs done for 10,000 won. The hanbok also served as automatic admission into the palace.

Coordinator's comments:
Yes, girls who visited the Gyeongbokgung palace this day said in their journals that they had a great day. I guess it was not a palace day for you Juliet, but a day for your familiy members. Hope you bought wonderful souvenirs for beloved ones.
