The fourth day of the training program was also the birthday of one trainee and Travis, the organization staff.
All of us are given a small cake, which gave us a good starting spirit for the day.

Mr. Seung Jick Yoo from Sookmyung Women’s University, who is the former President of GIR then provided us with the first part of his lecture about GHG emission projection. He introduced climate change, emission calculation and different energy sources.
The part about energy consumption projection using econometric modeling was really tough for me but it was interesting at the same time to learn about different drivers and how to test the relationship of the data.
The professor also mentioned the current carbon price and its impacts on the fuel consumption of Korean people for transport.

At the end of the learning session, we were asked to install R and R studio for tomorrow’s exercises. I have done the installation several times but could not be successful (even though I have asked in the Whatsapp group chat and received support from others). I will wait for the morning to come to work further on it (it is already 2 a.m now).

On the sideline, I was surprised to know that the trainee from Panama can speak Korean very well. She and her friend helped me to find the subway to Myeongdong station where I could find the BTS album and the Korean cosmetics that my niece asked me to buy for her.
It seems that my shopping mission for this visit to Korea has been accomplished easily today and I can spend more time exploring other aspects of the country in the following days.

I was very lucky to start the day celebrating such a special event with you and everyone. 
Professor Yoo was and is a proud member of GIR, and I was grateful that he joined us to deliver lectures this year despite his busy schedule. Though the lecture was not easy, I will be very glad if you find it informative and useful to your future work.
Didn't know Yoisy can speak Korean fluently - I should have talked to her in Korean! 
It is very enjoyable to see that you got great souvenirs and gifts in Seoul. Hope you and your niece liked it after your return to Vietnam.
