Journal Title: The last day of 2022 UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT Programme
Date: 12 August 2022

We started a new day with a country presentation on Waste Sector of Nigeria and 10 country presentations on NC/BUR preparation from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Turkey, India, Iran and Cameroon. Each country has their own institutional arrangements to prepare their national reports. They also share their countries’ ambitious targets toward net zero emissions by 2050. My colleagues focused on my country's difficulties and barriers in the preparation of BTRs as well as the implementation of Vietnam's COP26 emission reduction commitments.

After that, Mr. Jigme from UNFCCC gave us overview of measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) and enhanced transparency framework (ETF). He emphasized important things about the goals and requirements of the ETF and timeline on transitioning from MRV to ETF. His lessons are very informative and useful for us.

Three weeks have passed and this afternoon we attended the graduation ceremony of the course, which was also the last meeting we gathered in full. Attending the ceremony, Mr. Heungwon Seo gave a speech and gave certificates of completion to the trainees. Then together we watched a short video clip of memorable moments from the first day we arrived in Korea to the last days of this course.

Looking back on the 3 weeks of the course, we had great and memorable moments. This is not just an inventory course as the name suggests, but also a place where we experience Korean life, meeting students from more than 20 different cultures from all over the world.

I would like to thank the organizers for giving us this wonderful opportunity. I sincerely thank Milan Oh and the Secretariat for accompanying us, taking care of us during our stay here. I will definitely tell about this trip with my family, friends and colleagues with pride and happiness.

Love you all!
See you soon!

Coordinator's comments:
I think I can never get enough of feedback that says the lectures were useful for our trainees because it never fails to make me smile. Mr. Jigme will also be very happy that you find his lecture on MRV and ETF helpful.
I truly value this opportunity as an organizer that allowed us to conduct this year's training programme as an in-person event through which we made long-lasting memories with great friends from every part of the world.
Before I go, I must tell you that your supports and efforts throughout the programme which include your active participation during lectures, such an informative country presentations on Vietnam and being our proud panelist at the side event of IGC were definitely a significant contributing factor that made this year's training successful. Thank you for being with us for the past two years as our trainee - I was very excited to finally meet with you in person in Korea this year.
Lots of love to you, Thi Minh :)
